VENUE: GRAND EXCELSSIOR HOTEL, DIERA, DUBAI

DATE: 9TH TO 14TH DECEMBER, 2019

FEE: $2, 000

RATIONALE

In a world of increasing transparency there is a growing pressure being placed upon the public sector to standardize financial accounting. Standards adopted are the basis for the ‘new world’ of public reporting – creating greater confidence that public money is being handled effectively.

The aim of this course is for participants to understand IPSAS and the framework for public sector accounting. This course provides an overview of the most important requirements for preparing financial statements and disclosures under IPSAS.

IPSAS is becoming and will become the World standard for Public Sector entities. IFRS having replaced IAS is now becoming the world standard, but in many ways was not specific enough to the needs of the Public Sector. The United Nations and World Bank coming to this realization have favored IPSAS which is a modified form of IFRS tailored to the Public Sector.

This course will help the delegates to assist not only in meeting the challenges of introducing IPSAS, but also to secure the benefits of improved financial management to help secure organizational objectives and goals of each public service organization. It will also compare IFRS against IPSAS so that the participants can see the main differences.
